Four cities- NEW YORK

We visited United Nations building and attended the guided tour through the institution...The Headquarters of the UN is located on the East side of Manhattan. It is an international zone belonging to all Member States.

No firing! The United Nations has its own security force, fire department and postal administration.

The General Assembly Hall is the largest room in the United Nations, with seating capacity for over 1,800 people. The design of the room was an effort by the team of 11 architects that designed Headquarters.

An international staff explains the work of the United Nations and its related organizations, while taking visitors to some of the main Council Chambers and the General Assembly Hall.

...For example this girl from Africa. Our guide was from Malasia (my guess) and I did not understand her a word in english. Unfortunately she had a really strong accent.

UN Secretary General Kofin Annan and his predecessors.

King Kong on Empire State Building :]

Completed in 1930, the Chrysler Building is an important symbol of New York City, standing 319 m high on the east side of Manhattan.

Statue of Liberty in far distance.

We are on a ferry towards Ellis Island. We are just passing around the Statue of Liberty.

Pavel and a bull :]

New York Stock Exchange.

Small demonstration against US politics towards Iraq took place right across the street form NY Stock Exchange.

Ground Zero. This is what has remained from the World Trade Centre- construction site.

Memorial for victims of disaster on 9/11.

City hall.

We are crossing river on Brooklin bridge.

In the midle of beautiful and refreshing Central Park...Well, not definitely at night - could be dangerous :0

In 1981, the New York City Council decided to name the 2.5-acre parcel of land at Central Park West Strawberry Fields.

The project was not officially intended as a memorial to John Lennon, but rather a symbol and hope for world peace.

Lennon lalala: Imagine Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky, Imagine all the people living for today... Imagine there's no countries, It isnt hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, No religion too, Imagine all the people living life in peace...

the entrance to this garden is located directly across the street from the Dakota, where Lennon was shot.

This is our hostel in Harlem :]

And our beds...Not too comfortable, the room was pretty cold at night but who cares. I was glad I have a place to sleep :]

Our breakfast in the morning.

Hey, people visited NY city on this blog!
